May has been a crazy but fun month! Traveling was on the agenda, and I was gone almost every weekend! Two girls weekends, 3 days in Vegas then going to Pittsburgh to visit my Mom and my son, then to San Antonio to celebrate my oldest child’s 30th birthday! What a fun filled month. Now we are here in June, and it’s almost over. Where did the time go. I’m sitting in the Pittsburgh Airport now at 5:27 am waiting to board my flight back home to Sugar Land. I just spent a quick two and a half days in McKeesport visiting my Mom and Son. I decided at the last minute to book this flight, and I’m glad I did. I got to see my Mom and Son (Child #4 – Nick) and we spent some quality time together.
Nick wanted to go and visit the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Museum in Pittsburgh so we went there on Monday morning. The halls had the inscription of the men who fought in the civil war – it was impressive to see it all throughout the building. They had display cases of uniforms, mess kits, supplies, maps etc from every war beginning with the Civil War and ending with current conflict in the Middle East. There was a replica of the battleship USSPennsylvania, a battleship from WW II. The bell from the ship was outside of the building on the plaza – here is a picture of Nick and the bell.
Nick is an avid military buff and collects uniforms from WWI and WWII, along with other military items. I will have to write a post one day on all of his stuff. It’s pretty cool.
