I am now in Boston for a three day vacation with my husband! We flew in Saturday September 13 around noon, then took a water taxi to the Fairmont Battery Wharf hotel. The water taxi was fun, it was a small boat that took us from Logan Airport
to the hotel. We met some young people on the boat and they were from Austin Tx, in town for business. Small world!
After checking in, we took a walk around the North end of Boston. Who do we run into but the captain of the boat. We were on our way to eat lunch at the place he recommended, the Sail Loft. The food was fantastic. I had the fish sandwich and Bob had fish and chips. We both had huge platters of food, and my sandwich was off great. Fish was cooked to perfection and the coating was seasoned just right. Their cole slaw was wonderful, not too much mayonnaise and they put raisins in it. I love that.
We walked down Hanover street and it was full of Restaurants, cafe, bakeries and shops. We found Mike’s Pastry Shop and there was a line out the door! Of course we waited in line, and it was worth it. Bob got a cannoli and peanut butter cupcake and I got a chocolate cupcake and whoppie pie cookie. We ate the cannoli and the whoppie pie cookie and we are ready to back for seconds! Bob selected Ristorante Saraceno on Hanover Street for dinner and we had great food. It was a small restaurant with around 10 tables for diners. The ambiance was great, with white tablecloths, flowers and candles on the table. He ordered gnocchi and I had lasagna, and we were not disappointed. After dinner we walked around for a while, then went back to our hotel for coffee and dessert!
