It’s almost Halloween! October 31 will be here in a few days, and all the kids will be out trick-or-treating in their costumes and collecting candy. Ghosts, goblins, witches, scary creatures, vampires are all coming out on All Hallow’s Eve. When I was little it started getting dark around 5:45 PM so we always went trick-or-treating around 6 PM. We were usually gone for a few hours and took a pillow case to carry all of our candy! Daylight savings time is on Nov 3 this year so it will be light out when all the children go door to door seeking candy. One of our neighbors dresses up and sits near her front door and is very still holding a basket of candy. When the kids go up to take a piece, she will say something and move her arm. That’s when all the kids (and some adults) begin screaming. I must say I knew what was going to happen but I still was startled.

I just love the holidays and Halloween is just the start of all the festivities.    I put up my Halloween decorations Labor Day weekend, because I want to enjoy them for two months.     I’m really looking forward to Thursday night, when I am privileged  to accompany Robbie on his first Halloween trick-or-treating!
